Streszczenie
After 1989 the Polish telecommunications sphere changed radically for technological rea- sons and due to the market transformation. In the sphere of telephony, first, there was a rapid increase in the number of landline telephones, later the market was dominated by mobile phones. After de-monopolization of the first type of connections, the monopolistic competition stabilized on the market, whereas the newly-created mobile telecommunica- tions remain dominated by an oligopoly. The Internet was also a new market. Here, the degree of concentration is smaller than in the case of above mentioned types of services, but it can also be spoken about the situation of the monopolistic competition. Poland’s characteristic feature is a low level of penetration of the fixed-line Internet, and high level – in the case of the mobile Internet.
