Gra o „czarne złoto”. NSZZ „Solidarność” wobec skutków skrócenia czasu pracy w górnictwie węgla kamiennego (od sierpnia 1980 do maja 1981 r.)
Abstract
The article explores how developments in Polish coal mining interacted with the creation
of NSZZ “Solidarność”. The author shows how demand for coal affected working hours, and salaries, and how the new union’s fight for labour rights translated into deteriorating
mining results. Finally, he analyses the attitude of “Solidarność” towards mining, and
the impact of the union’s structure on activity in the sector.
