Streszczenie
Even though capital from France controlled a significant part of the Polish economy, the majority of its holdings either had been placed before World War One, or were simple takeovers of existing companies previously controlled by German or Austrian capital. Truly new investments were few and remained confined to a few sectors, primarily connected with the defence industry. French capital’s main contribution to Polish industrialization can be seen in financing infrastructural investments, with many of the works itself also carried out by French companies. The harbour in Gdynia and the coal trunk line were the most prominent examples.
